Don Patton Gymnasium
The dedication ceremony of the Don Patton Gymnasium was held on August 13, 2003. A lifelong resident and a 1945 graduate of Jackson-Milton High School, Mr. Patton is the ultimate example of "BLUE JAY PRIDE." His unwavering support, commitment and dedication to the various athletic programs at JM have earned him the recognition he so well deserves.
As the proud brother of Billy Patton, who is memorialized annually by recognizing Jackson-Milton's most valuable male athlete, Don's love of sports and support of our student-athletes is known by all. He was a member of JM's 1943-45 six man football team, and one of the first one-handed shooters on the basketball team. In the past, he has coached youth baseball and basketball, and more recently is a winning participant in Northeastern Ohio's Senior Olympics. Mr. Patton is also a member of the Jackson-Milton Athletic Hall of Fame, past president and current member of the JM Athletic Boosters.
Don's philosophy has always remained the same: -Be the best you can be. -Don't give up. -Practice, Practice, Practice.
It is with great admiration, we proudly recognize the positive influence Mr. Patton has on our student-athletes and his many contributions to Jackson-Milton Local Schools.
